Maxis, an Electronic Arts company, has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to bring The Sims to the big screen. The All-B cast will begin production soon on The Sims:The Movie. The movie will include all your favorite Sims phrases including "Nam-i-na!", "Meh shew-no!", and "Risha ravishang." The cast has begun playing the game 16 hours a day to prepare for their roles.
Mom The story revolves around Mom played by Susan Sarandon.

There is very little that Paramount Pictures and Electronic Arts are saying about the film, but one source reported on the condition of annonymity that the basic plot had to do with Mom getting a job after several years of retirement because her retirement fund ran out. She becomes a pickpocket and works her way up the ladder of success, making friends and throwing parties along the way.

The anonymous source also said, "When I first read the script, I thought to myself, 'Jim Baxley, that's a horrible script!' because it had no plot. However, after thinking about it for quite some time, I've decided that neither does The Sims the game and it became the best selling computer game of all time, so maybe there's hope."

Other characters reportedly include:
Malcolm Landgrabb
Played by Ted Danson

Charles Cheeky
Played by Burt Reynolds

Leon Roomies
Played by David Chappelle

Theresa Thimblewit
Played by Neve Campbell

Thomas Thimblewit
And Thomas Thimblewit played by Andy Dick

It is reported that the movie will beging filming sometime in July with a release date expected around May of 2004. Maxis has already announced that they will be making a new game based on the movie. It will be called The Sims:The Movie:The Game.
