There's a Tampax Pearl commercial on TV right now where this couple, presumably on their first date, are in a boat that springs a leak. The guy starts to try to figure out how to rectify the situation, and the chick pulls out a tampon and sticks it in the hole. This puzzles me for a couple of reasons.
1) Would a girl on her first date really whip out such a personal item to keep the guy (who -- trust me -- wanted to save the day and be a hero) from being the hero? 2) I don't see any good reason why a girl would carry around an entire box of tampons. How long were they planning on being out on that boat?
